I cannot say enough good things about the Carlsbad Cardigan from the Sew Beautiful book by Kennis Wong of Itch to Stitch.
It is 3 simple pattern pieces with a simple drape. The mitered corners gives a professional finish. For an extra special touch I finished the hems with a double needle. This is a great finish on knits.
I am nuts for knits and nuts for this cardigan!
The Knot Dress by Named in the Breaking the Pattern Book by Saara & Laura Huhta. Fabric is a delicious double brushed poly (DBP) from Joann Fabrics.
This is an example of when pattern finds it perfect fabric match. This dress was a joy to make and the book is great with all directions. I also bought four other DBP fabrics from Joann’s as more are in the works!
From idea to finished!
Lily loves fabric! I put the pink fleece down for a second and she pounced on it. So now it is hers.
She also loves boxes. As a sewist I get a lot of deliveries, fabric, notions and general stuff.

Butterick B6621 is done. I used a stash knit fabric for my muslin. I am making a muslin on this dress since I am not sure which View I like the best. I started with View B. I am making a short sleeve version to see if I like that. I did not like that you would see the wrong side of the fabric on the waist sash so I just lined them with a solid black light weight knit. I like how this came out so I did get another dress out my muslin make! That’s always a bonus.
We now have sleeves. I promise I will finish this dress!!
I was working on reorganizing my stash and found the Christening Gowns I made for my daughters many years ago. They are still so beautiful.

After reading all the great reviews online for NewLook 6095, I decided it was time to try this out. I also have a really nice stripe stretch knit from Mood that just needed to find the right pattern match. The muslin is done showing me I need to think over the side seams and perhaps some sleeve changes. More to come…….
