Sometimes You Can Try Different Fabrics…

This is Simplicity’s S9262. A beautiful V-neck shift dress. What a hit for summer. I did make this “wearable muslin” in a double brushed poly(DBP) which was not on the recommended fabrics.

I am glad I took a chance. My result is a dreamy summer shift in a floral DBP. Soft and breathable. Look at that neck detail!

My next plan is to make this in a linen.

More Blomma Tank and a Blomma Dress!

When you find a pattern that has great fit and style – you make many of them. This is how I feel about the Blomma Tank from @paradisepatterns.com.

This is a well fitting super easy pattern that loved becoming a dress too. I used the lower portion of Simplicity 8595 to extend the tank to a dress. It turned out to be a very nice mashup. Notice the beautiful neckline and armhole stitching!

The Blomma has a sporty cut that I adjusted by about a 1/2″ on front/back armholes so bra straps don’t show. This was a easy make and I highly recommend adding to your pdf stash. Visit http://www.paradisepatterns.com or on Instagram @paradisepatterns.

This is What Happens When You Mix Simplicity 1446 Top and Rad Patterns Seaside Culottes

Hello summer. This is a mashup of S1446 top view C and Rad Patterns Seaside Culottes. The stunning fabric from Joann’s is a double brushed poly in navy/daisy print. So soft with a lovely drape.

Peppermint Magazine’s Wide-strap dress

The perfect compliment to summer is Peppermint Magazine’s Wide strap maxi. I made a shorter length and reduced the straps by 3 inches.

The fabric is peach stripe cotton woven from Mood Fabrics. This was a perfect pairing of pattern and fabric.
