The Zipper Flower Clutch

This was fun to make.  I had some extra plaid material and some zippers I did not need.  I saw a cute clutch in a store a thought, “I could easily make that”.  This is the result!  I included a clutch snap in the front and done!

Just something a little different………

The Update:

The dress in not quite done yet. I have neck, arms and hem to complete.  Using the muslin made a big difference in fit and style decisions.  The fabric is fabulous!

I might do a small cap sleeve – not sure yet.

The Muslin:

After many, many years of sewing, I have discovered a new love of making a muslin first. This is a great way to get the feel of the pattern, make adjustments as you go all before toughing the fashion fabric.  I also helps a lot if I am between two choices of fabric.

The pattern is Vogue 8871 and the beautiful fabric from Mood is Digital Print Poly/Neoprene Blue/White/ Floral.

To All,

I decided that I would really focus on pattern manipulations and garment fit so I am taking classes over the next few weeks to perfect this skill.

So I expect to create even better fitting and looking garments.

Stay tuned……..

Softly Pleated Dress

This is Pamela’s Pattern #115 – Softly Pleated Dress.  This was a joy to make.  The dress has lovely pleats at the waist .  The pattern has quite a few selections of sleeves and necklines so the possibilities are really almost endless.  The fabric is a drapey knit that was a breeze to sew.  The fabric was purchased at Steve’s Sewing & Vacuum in King of Prussia, PA.  I already have plans to make another dress with this pattern.  Spring is on the way….soon!
